Unlike industrial design, which focuses on manufacturability, Ecodesign focuses on the product design stage itself. By combining technical, functional and economic requirements, it minimises the environmental and social impact throughout the entire life cycle of the product and its components.
A new design frontier that deals with efficient use of resources and materials, reducing the amount of waste and addressing durability, reparability, upgradeability and recyclability.
